History of JM

Our journey began with a monumental step taken by our ancestors. As the saying goes, "An idea without implementation is just wishful thinking." In the early 1900s, our lineage was part of Rajputana families. However, the advent of the British government brought hardships, and survival became challenging. It was during this time that our forebears ventured into crafting leather products, initially to earn a livelihood. This marked the genesis of our family's leather crafting legacy, and our community came to be known as JEENGAR, derived from the term 'jeen' (saddle), reflecting our origins in crafting leather horse saddles.

My grandfather, along with his father and other relatives, initiated this enterprise in our ancestral village of Barwa in Haryana. This village soon gained renown for its exquisite jutes. Through collective effort, our family weathered adversity and achieved success in carving out a livelihood. We crafted our products diligently within our homes, with family members and hired workers contributing to our leather goods.

Today, as the founder of this endeavor, I, Sumit Kumar Chayal, am continuing this legacy established by my predecessors.

Our Success

Presently, we collaborate with over hundreds of families from our community. Our headquarters are situated in Delhi, and we cater to customers not only in various parts of Delhi but also nationally and internationally. JM boasts an outlet at the Central Cottage Industrial Emporium in New Delhi, under the name Traditional Jutti. We actively participate in government-organized events across India and have showcased our products in exhibitions in cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Gwalior, Chennai, Hyderabad, and numerous other locations nationwide. Furthermore, we have expanded globally, participating in exhibitions in countries like the UK, Dubai, Thailand, Singapore, China, Nepal, with plans for more international engagements.
